Your own contract with a platform can differ from these, and the rates change. That is why the calculator takes your own numbers: your average order, your orders a month and the rate you actually pay.

Worth knowing before you decide
The apps still bring in new customers, and that is worth something. Keeping them for exactly that, and moving your regulars, the people who already know the name, to ordering direct, is one way to do it.
The saving is on the orders you can fulfil without the app. Your own website is built for pickup first, and if you already deliver yourself, that can be added. Orders that need the app's drivers stay on the app.
What the website itself costs is quoted per restaurant, after a short conversation about your menu and how you take orders today. It is left out of the figures above on purpose: we would rather put the real number next to your numbers than guess here.
Every commission rate on this page is the platform's own published Australian marketplace rate on the date shown, linked beside it. Your contract may differ, and rates change. The calculator takes whatever rate you actually pay.
Common questions
- Do I have to leave Uber Eats or DoorDash?
- No. You can keep the apps for new customers and move your regulars to direct ordering, where the fee is card processing instead of commission. The page's calculator lets you set how many of your orders you think would move.
- Who does the delivery if orders come through my own website?
- Your own website is built for pickup first: the customer orders and pays, and collects from you. If you already deliver yourself, that can be added. The apps' delivery networks are theirs; the saving comes from the orders you can fulfil without them.
- What does the website cost?
- We quote per restaurant after a short conversation about your menu and how you take orders today. The calculator deliberately leaves our fee out rather than guessing; ask and we will put the real number next to your figures.
- Are the commission rates on this page accurate?
- They are the platforms' own published Australian marketplace rates on the date shown, linked under each one. Your contract may differ, and rates change, which is why the calculator lets you type your own.
- Who owns the website and the customer list?
- You do. The code, the domain, the Stripe account and every customer's order history are in your name, the same as everything else we build.
